ABOUT ANISHA

Anisha started her entrepreneurial journey by translating the concept of making healthy eating simple, enjoyable and sustainable into a niche pizza concept and lifestyle brand in San Diego, CA.

Powerhaus Wholesome Pizza & Eats was her first foray in the hospitality industry.

To say her first year in business was challenging is an understatement, quickly followed by operational shut downs and additional set-backs due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Through perseverance, Anisha was able to consistently deliver value to key stakeholders. These included her customers, employees and 5+ vendors (many of whom supplied ingredients on credit), as well as her investors and landlord who held a stake in a traditionally high-risk hospitality investment.

While operating Powerhaus, Anisha successfully navigated multiple cumbersome legal processes. Most notably, she secured the first new beer and wine license in Powerhaus’ business district in 10+ years when there was “almost no chance of getting the license” per the regulatory body. After an extremely research-intensive, multi-year effort to build an appeal case, she successfully convinced the judge at trial that Powerhaus should be granted a license.

Prior to opening Powerhaus, Anisha was based in New York City where she worked as a Real Estate Investment Analyst at Prudential Real Estate Investors and Canada Pension Plan Investments. Her efforts were focused on underwriting and managing industrial, office, retail, hotel, and multi-family investments across the U.S. She developed annual budgets and monitored her portfolio to ensure performance remained in-line with expectations.

She completed the Honors Business Administration program at Ivey Business School with Distinction at Western University (Canada) and holds her Masters in Construction Management and Economics with Merit from University College London (U.K).

While her business was successful, Anisha knows that life can be tough - and owning and operating a business can be even tougher. She empathizes with those who face the serious decision of filing for bankruptcy and understands how emotionally draining the process can be, for all parties involved.
